August is here! And your Negotiations Team is still hard at work advocating for faculty!
We met with the District twice in August to continue some ongoing conversations before the semester begins.
MOUs
We are excited to announce that we were able to secure an additional 20% reassigned time for the Curriculum Co-Chair this academic year to compensate for the increased workload caused by AB-928, AB-1111, and changes to Title 5.
We were able to sign an MOU with the District to support AB 1705 coordinators as they continue this important work within the limits of the grant.
We are still waiting for some final details to be discussed before we can sign an MOU to close out our final full department class caps negotiations!
Presented an MOU to adjust part-time office hours proportionally in light of increases to the state’s reimbursement under the Part-Time Faculty Office Hours Program Fund.
Discussion and additional support
Collaborated with HR on creating a Checklist to support vocational faculty take advantage of new contract language to advance on the salary schedule.
Continued to advocate for faculty members experiencing pay and load concerns.
Our regular Negotiations Meetings with the District will begin on September 11th.
